Watercolors by Joy
Please enjoy your visit to my site. As you browse through the artwork, I hope you'll find an image that makes you think, "I've seen that", or "That reminds me of . . ."
In spite of promises of a more relaxed way of life, we spend a lot of time hurrying to get somewhere else and often miss "what the road passes by". Many of my paintings are of those special moments - Geraniums in an enamel pot, Canada Geese flying past a hillside farmhouse, or the way the sun strikes a landscape. The Trilliums on this page were hanging over the edge of a rock ledge. I couldn't resist the climb to photograph and sketch them.
If you find something you like for yourself or a gift, just print and fill out the order form and mail it, or call with credit card information. Order with a check, Visa or Master Card. Special - no shipping charge for a limited time!
And, I'd love to hear from you. E-mail is my lifeline here in the country.
Comments, site suggestions, requests for special paintings, or a simple "hi" are
all appreciated. I like knowing you've been here.
It's amazing what happens to you if you just go along with the flow. My husband Doug and I could never have predicted that we'd be living in West Virginia's mountains (on a genuine country road) and hosting guests from all over the world in our Bed & Breakfast, Nakiska Chalet.
We're native West Virginians and whitewater paddlers. We've enjoyed exploring our state and I enjoy sharing those experiences with my watercolors. I seriously began to paint in 1995 and offer my work on this site and in Artists at Work Gallery in Elkins, WV, Showcase West Virginia at the Charleston Town Center, Tamarack in Beckley, and several other shops and galleries. I have exhibited my work in state and local art shows and have been pleased that several have received awards. I'm a Juried member of the West Virginia Watercolor Society and Allied Artists of West Virginia.
In addition to all that, I love to plan "dates" with Doug, I'm a mom to two great young men, love my daughters-in-law, and adore our three grandchildren. They, as well as painting, keep me happy and busy.
